Our anniversary came out of nowhere and it feels like wedding planning was a decade ago, but here we are–one year in!
We started the day eating lunch on Rue St. Jean, easily our favorite street in Quebec. Alan loved his maple whiskey.
Rainy weather in Quebec adjusted our plans for the weekend, but the rain finally let up Sunday afternoon and we biked 8 miles to Montmorency Falls. The city has bike paths all over the city, and with a couple key turns, it’s an easy ride to the falls.
An afternoon at Montmorency Falls was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. We love waterfalls and this one is particularly beautiful. They’re actually taller than Niagra Falls and is one of the top day trips outside of Quebec City.
There are loads of activities, from taking a cable car up to rock climbing, but the best is to just climb up the stairs and stand on the bridge overlooking the falls. We were too tired to make the climb, so maybe next time!
The bike path was gorgeous and was great during those last few miles because it offered a nice view to distract me from my sore butt!
There were flowers everywhere, it felt like early May instead of July. And I think we’re magically not allergic to these flowers because our allergies didn’t act up at all!
